The Halton District School Board serves nearly 57,000 public school students in the municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville in southern Ontario. All four municipalities form the Regional Municipality of Halton. The Region of Halton and the Halton District School Board share the same boundaries encompassing 232,000 acres of land (93,887 hectares), 25 kilometres of which are along the shore of Lake Ontario. Student, School and Staff Enrolments:
In total, the Halton District School Board has 81 elementary schools (29 in Burlington, 26 in Oakville, and 13 each in Halton Hills and Milton) and 17 secondary schools (six in Burlington, five in Oakville, and two each in Halton Hills and Milton). They are staffed by approximately 3,367 teachers, 1,309 non-teaching and support staff, and 192 Principals and Vice-principals.

Trustees:
The Halton District School Board is governed by 11 school board trustees who represent public school supporters of the Halton Region. The current Trustees were elected in October 2010, for a four-year term.
All Board of Trustee meetings take place at the J.W. Singleton Centre, 2050 Guelph Line, Burlington.
- Board meetings occur on the first and third Wednesday of each month; public session at 7 p.m.
- Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
Budget:
The 2011-12 operating budget for the Halton District School Board totals $560,446,778 while the capital budget totals $66,237,358. After adjusting for the new reporting format in 2011-12, the increase over the previous year is $32 million and includes an enrolment growth of 2.8 per cent.
