Elementary Occasional Teaching Positions

The Halton District School Board is currently seeking French teachers for our Elementary Occasional list.
Candidates must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and must possess a University Degree with French or FSL Part 1, Part 2 or Specialist.

The Halton District School Board will request a Criminal Background Check that includes a vulnerable sector search that is satisfactory to the board as well as a third party background screening being conducted prior to an offer of employment.

Potential Teachers:

1. Cover Letter (addressed to Heather Bolt, Staffing and Recruiting Officer)
2. Resume
3. Practicum Assessments or Principal Evaluations
4. Copy of Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification (where possible).

Conditions of Employment:
Anyone offered a position with the Halton District School Board would be required to successfully complete the Pre-Employment Screening Process for the Board. The Pre-Employment Screening Process includes the requirement to provide the Board with the following:
1. OCT Certificate of Qualification (in good standing)
2. Latest Teacher Performance Appraisal, if applicable (minimum level of satisfactory)
3. Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months)
4. Medical Certificate of Good Health (dated within six months)
5. Verification of Teaching Experience, if applicable
6. QECO Statement of Evaluation
As well as presentation and acceptance of the above documents, the appointment would be conditional upon the following:
1. The teacher continuing to hold qualifications in accordance with the Acts and Regulations administered by the Minister of Education.
2. Agreement to comply with the Board’s policies, procedures and code of conduct.
3. A probationary period in accordance with the collective agreement (currently one year for probationary teachers and 30 instructional days for occasional teachers).
