Supply Educational Assistant
The preferred candidate for the position of Supply Educational Assistant, will possess a minimum of one or more of the following qualifications:
Educational Assistant, or similar diploma
Post Secondary Degree
Nursing qualifications
Lifting Training
Autism Spectrum Disorder Training
Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) Training
It is important that Educational Assistants possess a willingness along with the physical ability to work with students with many diverse needs. Some students may require lifting, toileting and diapering. In addition, Supply Educational Assistants must be willing to accept assignments in one or more of the geographical areas within the jurisdiction of the Halton District School Board. (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown, Acton and Halton Hills).
Prior to an applicant being accepted for this position, every employment candidate will be required to demonstrate to the “School Board” that they have the physical capability to perform the essential physical duties of the job. Potential employment candidates must agree to complete a Post Offer Screen performed via a Service Provider contracted by the School Board. The Post Offer Screen may include the following tests:

All job offers will be conditional on the candidate passing all components of this test. Results of testing will not be disclosed during the Post Offer Screen but will be provided to the School Board, who will notify candidates of their results.
Note: There will be no contract of service with the (HDSB) prior to the employment candidate’s completion of and passing the requirements of the physical testing.
Conditions of Employment
Anyone offered a position with the Halton District School Board would be required to successfully complete the Pre-Employment screening Process for the Board. The Pre-employment Screening included the requirement to provide the Board with the following:
1. Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated with six months)
2. Medical Certificate of Good Health (dated within six months)
