Burlington, ON - March 12, 2010 - New meeting date is March 31; Halton Music Showcase takes April 7 date.

Halton District School Board Trustees have changed the date of their April 7 Board meeting to a week earlier, on Wednesday, March 31.  Students, staff, parents and trustees will be attending the annual Halton Music Showcase event on April 7, 2010.

“We didn’t want to conflict with this incredible night showcasing the talents of our students and staff,” said Chair Bruce Jones.  “The event, held at Hamilton Place, is booked based on availability of the venue, and months of preparation and anticipation lead up to this event. We want trustees to have the opportunity to attend, so rescheduling the Board meeting was a logical decision.”

Upcoming meetings for the Halton District School Board will be:
· Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7 p.m. –
· This is the second Board meeting for the month of March, delayed one week due to the March Break.
· Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 7 p.m. –
· This will be, technically, the first Board meeting for the month of April, although rescheduled from April 7 to allow for attendance at Halton Music Showcase.
· Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7 p.m. –
· This is the second Board meeting for the month of April.

The Board meeting is open to members of the public.  Public session begins at 7 p.m. on meeting nights.  The meeting is held at the JW Singleton Education Centre, 2050 Guelph Line, Burlington.
