April 14, 2010: Parents, students and the community are invited to a three-day elementary school art exhibit this week, wrapping up on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the New Street Education Centre (3250 New St., Burlington).
The exhibit will open each day at 9 a.m. and remain open until 2:30 p.m. On Thursday, April 14, the exhibit will be open from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. for parents and community members.
Hundreds of pieces of student artwork will be on display. Created by students from schools across the Halton District School Board, the works of art use various media including water colour, pastel, crayon, paper sculpture and clay sculpture.
Also, there will be guest professional artists from the Burlington Art Centre on hand to explain the nature of their craft.
More than 2,500 elementary students are expected to visit the exhibit.
