May, 7, 2010: Although June 30, 2010 will mark the closing of three schools in southeast Oakville, students, parents and staff are preparing to celebrate the occasions with events for the community.

At Brantwood Public School, located at 2212 Allan Street North, an Open House is planned for Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. School memorabilia and photos will be on display from Brantwood’s 90 long years of providing public education.  In addition to the public open house, the school council is hosting its annual “Country Fair” on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At Linbrook Public School (1079 Linbrook Road) the school will host its “End of Year BBQ and Open House” on Thursday, June 17 with invitations to both the Linbrook and the E.J. James school communities.

Chisholm Public School, which opened its doors in 1974, will celebrate with an Open House on Wednesday, June 9 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. All alumni and friends of the school community are welcome to come and meet with friends and colleagues, say goodbye, and enjoy some light refreshments as well as school memorabilia and photos on display. 

Current Chisholm Public School students will celebrate again on “Chisholm Fun Day” on
Friday, June 25 with activities planned for all students.   Chisholm Public School is located at 165 Charnwood Drive, Oakville.
