Wayne Joudrie to complete his 5-year term at the end of August 2010
At their November 18, 2009 Halton District School Board meeting, Trustees accepted the resignation (retirement) of Director of Education Wayne Joudrie, effective August 31, 2010.
“It has been a singular honour to have served the students, staff and community of Halton for the past five years,” said Joudrie, in announcing his intention to the Board.
Wayne Joudrie came to the Halton District School Board in October 2005, and has led the Board in many initiatives during his five year term.
In his notice to trustees, Joudrie cited a number of accomplishments achieved during the past five years, including:
- setting common goals as outlined in the Board’s Strategic Plan;
- improved student achievement, indicated by substantial growth at both the elementary and secondary levels;
- construction and opening of nine new schools, as well as multiple renovations as Halton experienced unprecedented growth;
- improved staff compliance and alignment to standardized processes, policies and procedures; and
- the promise of new corporate systems in Human Resources, Finance and Facility Services under the Project UPDATE initiative
“It has been a pleasure to work with Director Joudrie during his term with Halton,” says Bruce Jones, Chair of the Halton District School Board. “With his retirement date almost a year away, we still plan on doing great things for Halton students under his leadership.”
The Board will be reviewing options in undertaking a Director’s search.
