Halton District School Board hosts secondary art show
May 18, 2011: Parents, students and the community are invited to the 6th annual secondary school art exhibit this week at the New Street Education Centre (3250 New St., Burlington), wrapping up on Friday, May 20 at 2:30 p.m.

The show will be open today (Wednesday) and Thursday (May 19) between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Friday, May 20 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Hundreds of pieces of student artwork are on display. Created by Grade 9-12 students from schools across the Halton District School Board, the works of art incorporate painting, sketching, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

“This is a very impressive art show. The skill, creativity and critical thinking that is expressed by our Halton art students is truly amazing,” says Mary Stevenson-Baratto, Coordinator for the Arts for the Halton District School Board. “We have very talented art teachers who are able to help students realize this wonderful work.”
