Halton District School Board celebrates Employee Appreciation Day
February 16, 2011: The Halton District School Board is proud to officially recognize Thursday, February 24, 2011 as Employee Appreciation Day.  More than 8,000 talented staff members are employed by the board on a full or part-time basis, in casual and permanent positions.

Staff contribute daily to the success of the approximately 54,000 elementary and secondary students enrolled in the public board and it is fitting their hard work be recognized.

Employee Appreciation Day is an annual event held by the Halton District School Board to acknowledge all staff who dedicate themselves to the welfare of our students on each and every day of the year,” says David Euale, Director of Education for the Halton District School Board.

The 2010 event was commemorated by the “Learn, Grow, Succeed…Together” art contest. The Staff Wellness Committee selected winning student submissions from Pine Grove, Falgarwood and Abbey Lane public schools. Staff from Oakwood and Tecumseh public schools won in the Staff category. This artwork will soon be proudly displayed at J.W. Singleton and the New Street Education Centre.
