January 16, 2012: The Halton District School Board encourages school communities to nominate a teacher or support staff member for the 2012 Premier’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
Outstanding teachers and support staff can make a difference in a child’s life. The Halton District School Board takes pride in the work of all staff and wishes to see more of their many successes recognized through this prestigious award by the Premier’s Office and the Ontario Ministry of Education.
There are a total of eight award categories, recognizing a range of people and skills. This year, there are two new awards: Early Childhood Educator of the Year and Full-Day Kindergarten Team of the Year.
If you know a teacher or support staff member who has made a difference in your school community and has demonstrated their commitment to students, please take the time to nominate them. Nominations can be submitted by anyone including students, parents, staff, colleagues, community members, local business people and social agency partners. Teachers, support staff, principals and vice-principals, supervisory officers, directors of education and many others are eligible for nomination. All nominations must be submitted before Monday, February 6, 2012.
