Information meeting helps parents understand
Individual Education Plan (IEP)
October 5, 2011: To help parents navigate their student’s Individual Education Plan, the Halton District School Board will host a parent information evening called, “Understanding Your Child’s IEP”, on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 7-8 p.m. at Chris Hadfield Public School (1114 Woodward Avenue, Milton).

The Board’s Student Services Department, together with the Special Education Advisory Committee, are committed to breaking down barriers to help ensure parents and guardians are active partners in their child’s education. This commitment to fostering active participation in a student’s education includes providing more opportunities for parents/guardians to learn more about their child’s Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

An IEP is a written plan to help support student learning and achievement. It describes the strengths and needs of a particular student as well as the special education program and services the student is receiving within the resources available to the school board.

If you have special needs or require accommodations to attend the meeting, please contact Pamela Cooley at the New Street Education Centre at 905-631-6120, ext 323.
