May 15th Health and Wellness event for staff and their families

April 29, 2010: On Saturday, May 15, the Halton District School Board will be co-hosting Aware! Fair. The event, open to all staff and their family members, will be held at the Royal Botanical Gardens  (680 Plains Road West, Burlington) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required at www.awarefair.ca.

The first 100 staff to register online and attend will receive a “More Halton Hikes” guide and pedometer and be entered for a chance to win a family getaway to Great Wolf Lodge.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board created this event six years ago. This is the third year that Halton is co-hosting. The theme, “It’s About You and Your Family too”, coincides with International Day of Families. Highlighting this year’s event will be a 5 km run/walk, 1 km family walk and a KidSport Funzone.

“Exciting features have been added to this years event, based on feedback we received. Staff Wellness is a priority of the Halton District School Board and this is one of our signature events. We are hoping for a great turnout and that as many of our staff come out to this years event,” says Kelley Terry, Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Admission and parking are free.  There will also be free try-it sessions, blood typing, health screening, vendors and guest speakers.
