April 11, 2011: A number of Halton District School Board schools will be celebrating major milestones this year. They include: Brant Hills Public School (25th anniversary), Gladys Speers Public School (50th anniversary), Sunningdale Public School (50th anniversary) and John T. Tuck Public School (50th anniversary). Each school is holding an event to recognize the number of years they have been open and the thousands of students who have passed through their doors as part of their journey of learning.
Brant Hills Public School: An open house will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 2–4 p.m.
Former students will be able to tour classrooms, hear the school band and choir, reconnect with former classmates and view pieces of memorabilia. There will be a formal ceremony and cake-cutting taking place at 3 p.m.
Those interested in attending should register at BRHPS@hdsb.ca by April 23. The school can be reached by calling 905-336-2330.

A follow-up party is being planned at the Firehouse in Oakville for alumni who wish to continue the celebration. As well, there will be two evening musical presentations (for students and parents of those students only) performed earlier that week: Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11, with both starting at 6:30 p.m. Several classrooms will be displaying photos and memorabilia items for each of the five decades the school has been open. The contents of a time capsule from 25 years ago will also be put on display.
