Parents reminded of registration deadline for before and after school care for the Early Learning Program

April 20, 2010: The Halton District School Board reminds parents of the April 23, 2010 registration deadline for the Extended Care Program for Kindergarten students attending the new Early Learning Program (ELP).

The Extended Care Program will provide before and after school care within their child’s school.  Parent interest will determine whether the program will be offered at each of the 11 Early Learning Program schools. The Extended Care Program will provide a seamless day beginning at 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. before and after the core day program. Extended care will be offered to parents for a fee based on their child’s enrolment in the program.

In order to plan for the Extended Care Program, the Halton District School Board mailed ELP registered parents a letter and registration form on April 7th.    The completed forms must be returned, with the security deposit, no later than Friday, April 23, 2010.

Based on the information gathered on the completed registration forms, the Halton District School Board will determine by Friday May 14, 2010 if and where the Extended Day Program will be offered.
