October 26, 2010: Does your child want to explore or try out a career path in high school before heading to apprenticeship, college, university or the workplace? Does he or she have a passion for hands-on learning outside the classroom with a greater relevance to the subjects being taught in school?
Pathways Planning Information Nights are being held over the next several months for parents and guardians to get more information on how Halton District School Board students can better prepare themselves for a rapidly changing world while receiving a relevant, engaging and active education that meets their interests and needs.
Attendees will learn about Specialist High Skills Major, Ontario Youth Apprentice Programs, Specialist School to Career Programs, expanded Cooperative Education Programs and Dual Credit college programs.
Pathways meetings, which all run from 6:30-8:30 p.m., will be held:
• Thursday, October 28: Milton District High School, Milton
• Thursday, November 4: Abbey Park High School, Oakville
• Tuesday, November 30: Robert Bateman High School, Burlington
• Thursday, December 2: Acton District High School, Acton
• Tuesday, January 25, 2011: Polish Hall, Burlington
• Wednesday, January 26, 2011: Georgetown District High School, Georgetown
• Thursday, January 27, 2011: Galaxy 707 Hall, Oakville
