Public input sought in naming new schools in Burlington, Milton
January 28, 2013: The Halton District School Board encourages public input in the naming of a new high school in Burlington and an elementary school in Milton. Both schools are currently under construction and scheduled to open in September 2013.

The Burlington high school, opening in the Alton community, is part of a joint facility that includes a City of Burlington recreation centre and a public library.  

Name suggestion forms and ballot boxes will be placed in neighbourhood schools and public libraries. Suggestions will be accepted from February 4 to March 1, 2013.   

For the new Milton elementary school (625 Suave St.), suggestion forms can be found and submitted at: 
· Hawthorne Public School (850 Bennett Blvd.)
· Bruce Trail Public School (1199 Costigan Rd.)
· Tiger Jeet Singh Public School (650 Yates Dr.)
· E.W. Foster Public School (320 Coxe Blvd.)
· Sam Sherratt Public School (649 Laurier Ave.)
· W.I. Dick Public School (351 Highside Dr.)
· Milton Public Libraries (Main Branch at 1010 Main St. E. and the Beaty Branch at 945 Fourth Line)    

For the Burlington high school (3040 Tim Dobbie Dr.) suggestion forms can be found and submitted at:

· Alton Village Public School (3290 Steeplechase Dr.)
· Charles R. Beaudoin Public School (4313 Clubview Dr.)
· Orchard Park Public School (5151 Dryden Ave.)
· Florence Meares Public School (2102 Berwick Dr.)
· John William Boich Public School (2474 Sutton Dr.)
· Kilbride Public School (6611 Panton St.)
· M.M. Robinson High School (2425 Upper Middle Rd.)

Entries may also be submitted through the Halton District School Board website at www.hdsb.ca (Milton and Burlington), faxed to 905-335-4447 or mailed to the Communications Department, Halton District School Board, PO Box 5005 STN LCD 1, Burlington, ON, L7R 3Z2. It is anticipated Halton District School Board trustees will select names for the new schools at a Board meeting this spring.
