September 19, 2011: The Halton District School Board encourages public input in the naming of its two new high schools currently under construction and scheduled to open in September 2012.
The schools are located in northwest Oakville – at 2820 Westoak Trails Blvd, and in south Milton at 1151 Ferguson Drive.
By the end of next week, suggestion forms and ballot boxes will be placed in public libraries and at the following neighbourhood schools.
For the Oakville high school, suggestion forms may be submitted at:

· Captain R. Wilson Public School
· Emily Carr Public School
· West Oak Public School
· Forest Trail Public School
· White Oaks Secondary School
· Abbey Park High School
· Glen Abbey Branch Public Library (1415 Third Line)
· Oakville Public Library (Navy Street)
For the Milton high school, suggestion forms may be submitted at:
· Bruce Trail Public School
· Chris Hadfield Public School
· Sam Sherratt Public School
· Hawthorne Village Public School
· Tiger Jeet Singh Public School
· E.C. Drury High School
· Milton Public Library (Main Branch)
· Beaty Branch Public Library (945 Fourth Line)
Suggested names may be submitted until Friday, October 14, 2011. Entries may also be submitted via the Halton District School Board website at www.hdsb.ca (as of Friday, Sept. 23, 2011), faxed to 905-335-4447 or mailed to the Communications Department, Halton District School Board, PO Box 5005, STN LCD 1, Burlington, Ontario L7R 3Z2.
Submissions must indicate for which school the name should be considered. Please include your name, address, telephone number and a short rationale for the name you have suggested.
It is anticipated that Halton District School Board trustees will select names for the new schools at a Board meeting in November 2011.
