October 12, 2010: Three sessions designed to help parents held in October in Burlington and Milton
Free presentations held in collaboration with the Halton District School Board.

In collaboration with the Halton District School Board, among other partners, three free parenting sessions will be held later this month to address the issue of raising healthy children. They are:

• On Wednesday, October 20, 2010, the Milton Parent Education Network hosts guest speaker Sarah Chana Radcliffe, an author and registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She will address the topic of kids and stress.

It will be held at the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Boulevard) from 7-8:30 p.m. For more information, call Halton region at 905-825-6000.

• On Thursday, October 21, 2010, the Parent Involvement Committee is helping bring Stuart Ablon to Burlington to talk about dealing with challenging behaviour in children and teenagers. Ablon is the director of Think:Kids in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. 

It will be held at Burlington’s Gary Allan High School (3250 New Street) from 7-9 p.m. Email bastaj@hdsb.ca for more information.

• On Tuesday, October 26, 2010, Community & Parent Partners for Kids (C.A.P.P.) is helping bring guest speaker Michael Reist, a longtime teacher and public speaker, to discuss raising emotionally healthy children. 

It will be held at Burlington’s Gary Allan High School (3250 New Street) from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Call Halton Region at 905-825-6000 more information.
