February 3, 2012: On February 6, you will be able to follow the Halton District School Board on the social media forum,
Twitter. This new venture for the Halton District School Board will allow followers to keep current on “tweets” about system issues, regional events, and matters of interest to students, staff and the community.
In recognizing the popularity of social media, the Halton District School Board will use Twitter as a one-way communication tool to augment its current communications efforts.
“This will be a valuable information tool for parents, staff, students and our communities,” says David Euale, Director of Education for the Halton District School Board. “By adding Twitter to the Halton District School Board’s communications tools, we will be able to communicate in a concise and timely way about issues that are current or evolving.”
Tweets will feature or promote:
· system or regional issues and/or events;
· information about new content on the Board’s corporate website, www.hdsb.ca including news releases, Spotlight on Schools features and more;
· Board meetings and decisions, as well as availability of Board agenda and minutes; and
· public meetings, surveys or requests for public input.
