Halton District School Board recognizes
Employee Appreciation Day
Feb. 19, 2013: Each February, a day is established for employers to recognize their employees as part of the annual Employee Appreciation Day.  In 2013, this date has been established as Friday, February 22, 2013

As part of Employee Appreciation Day, the Halton District School Board is recognizing the more than 8,500 employees that work within its organization.  Electronic messages, posters and public recognition are part of the campaign to let both employees and the people they serve know how integral they are to public education in Halton.

"Your hard work, resilience, leadership and dedication have made the Halton District School Board one of the finest educational institutions in the province,” says David Euale, Director of Education for the Halton District School Board.

In his message to staff, Euale also highlights the role staff has in ensuring student success.

“More significantly, the measures of our student achievement indicate they are being prepared for a prosperous future,” he says.  “Recognition of our students and staff in jurisdictions outside of the Halton Region underscores the quality of our programs and the efforts of our staff.”

Working in the Halton District School Board’s 83 elementary schools, 18 secondary schools and central offices are more than 5,000 teachers and occasional teachers, over 3,000 non-teaching and support staff, and more than 200 principals and vice-principals.
