Alexander's Public School hosted its 3rd Family Literacy Night on May 26.
Families were invited to have milk and cookies and listen to a variety of speakers including author/illustrator Martin Springett, master storyteller Bob Tadman and slam poet Tomy Bewick.
Also, parents were able to learn more about the Who is NOBODY? program, which is a literacy-based character education program Alexander’s has taken on. Students learn about important character attributes like respect, perseverance, optimism, courage and empathy.
The program was taken on by Alexander’s to “encourage and further enhance our commitment to the community,” said school principal Gord Truffen.
Who is NOBODY? was developed by Ontario teacher Kelly Clark, who was on hand at Alexander’s to answer questions.
