Parents, students and the community took part in a three-day elementary school art exhibit earlier this month at the New Street Education Centre (3250 New St., Burlington).
The exhibit opened each day at 9 a.m. and remained open until 2:30 p.m., including a night gala for parents and community members to see the wonderful pieces of art.
Hundreds of pieces of student artwork were on display. Created by students from schools across the Halton District School Board, the works of art used various media including water colour, pastel, crayon, paper sculpture and clay sculpture.
Also, there were guest professional artists from the Burlington Art Centre on hand to explain the nature of their craft.
More than 2,500 elementary students visited the exhibit.
