Captain R. Wilson in Oakville hosted last week five days worth of a Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week initiatives to drive home the important point to students to treat everyone with respect.
Held during the week of November 15, 2010, the school event coincided with the Ontario Ministry of Education theme, Stand Up to Bullying. Some school initiatives included having classes define the term bullying as well as discussing the role of bystander in bullying situations.
A key part of the weeklong event was having each class design a bullying prevention poster, which was hung on the classroom door.
