EQAO recognizes Glenview Public School with prestigious Dr. Bette Stephenson Recognition of Achievement Award

Glenview Public School in Burlington has been chosen by EQAO as the recipient of the Dr. Bette Stephenson Recognition of Achievement Award, along with only fifteen other schools across the entire province in all four types of public boards! The award is for creating and implementing the action plan in response to the student achievement data”.
In a recent e-mail to Deb Renton, Principal of Glenview Public School, Marguerite Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of EQAO, said, "We are pleased to inform you that Glenview Public School from your school board will receive the Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement. This recognition program was established by the EQAO Board of Directors on April 29, 2009, as a tribute to Dr. Bette Stephenson’s life-long commitment and contribution to education. Glenview Public School’s community was recently profiled in EQAO’s Provincial Report for using provincial assessment results as evidence contributing to its improvement planning. The profiled schools are being acknowledged for creating action plans based on their unique circumstances and working toward improved student outcomes."
Odette Bartnicki, Superintendent of Education, noted,“This has been and continues to be a huge journey, and I would like to recognize Deb Renton and her staff, along with Brent Phillips, former principal, for their professional commitment to the task of raising the bar and closing the gap for the students of Glenview. There are also many support staff, including program and student services personnel and system principals, OFIP leaders, LRTs, school council members, volunteers and co-op students and others who also deserve the Board’s congratulations and thanks for their own participation in this journey”.
I know Glenview’s entire staff is buoyed on by this recognition and committed to raising the achievement scores for all students even more in the coming year”.
Congratulations Glenview!
