Four Beaudoin students raised $1460 by opting for donations rather than gifts for their birthdays

From left to right: Charles R. Beaudoin Public School students Holly S., Kristina G., Danielle C. and Alex N., present a cheque to Wayne Joudrie, Director of Education and Susan Busby, Chair, Halton Learning Foundation.

Four generous teenage girls, from Charles R. Beaudoin Public School in Burlington, chose to give back to their community by helping fellow Halton students through the Halton Learning Foundation.

These thoughtful teens celebrated their 13th birthdays by hosting a joint party on January 10, 2010 at the Velocity Youth Centre.  To help Halton students in need, these four teens requested their friends make a donation to the Barriers to Learning Fund at the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF), in lieu of gifts for themselves.

The four girls presented a cheque for the proceeds to date ($1,460) to the Halton Learning Foundation Board members at the January 19, 2010 Board Meeting.
