Munn’s Public School students presented a cheque for $1,167.78. to the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank.
This holiday season the students and families of École Munn’s Public School have demonstrated the spirit of giving in a tremendous way.
During the month of December, the Munn’s school community collected donation totaling $1,167.78 for the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank, which goes directly to needy families to the purchase of fresh food products. As well, food items were also collected and delivered to the food bank. The volume of donations required Munn’s student representatives to visit the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank on three separate occasions to deliver, sort and stock the shelves.
In addition to this, the school’s Giving Tree project collected 102 pairs of new warm mittens which were delivered to the neighbour HUB for distribution to Halton children. Munn’s student Thomas H., was the winner of our Giving Tree for his donation of a natural evergreen Christmas tree to the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank.
Thank you to the Munn’s school community for teaching students about the importance of sharing and helping others.
