Brant Hills Public School

Brant Hills Public School is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

An open house will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 2–4 p.m.

Former students will be able to tour classrooms, hear the school band and choir, reconnect with former classmates and view pieces of memorabilia. There will be a formal ceremony and cake-cutting taking place at 3 p.m.

Gladys Speers Public School

Gladys Speers Public School is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

An open house will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. A formal ceremony will take place at 1:45 p.m. Seats are limited. Approximately 500 anniversary cupcakes will also be provided courtesy of Gladys Speers parents. A follow-up party is being planned at the Firehouse in Oakville for alumni who wish to continue the celebration. As well, there will be two evening musical presentations (for students and parents of those students only) performed earlier that week: Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11, with both starting at 6:30 p.m.

Several classrooms will be displaying photos and memorabilia items for each of the five decades the school has been open. The contents of a time capsule from 25 years ago will also be put on display.

Sunningdale Public School

Sunningdale Public School is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the school will hold an open house to commemorate this milestone. It will run from 1-5 p.m., with an official ceremony taking place at 2 p.m.  

The school encourages former classmates to come and reconnect with former schoolmates, staff and administration. School memorabilia and photos will be on display and light refreshments will be served. There will be a cake cutting as well as the official opening of new classroom areas and a butterfly garden.

John T. Tuck Public School

John T. Tuck is celebrating its 50th anniversary in June.

A celebration of the five decades the school has been open will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. A formal ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., after which guests will be able to tour the school and see the new 50th anniversary mural. Also, there will be memorabilia and photos to see, classrooms representing the decades, a silent auction. bouncy castles and face painting for the kids, and lunch will be available on site.
