Full Day Every Day Kindergarten in the 2011-2012 School Year
The Halton District School Board will provide a full day of learning for four-and five-year-old children as part of the Province of Ontario’s plan for early learning. The program will be phased in time -- the first year of the 5-year plan started in September 2010.
As registration for Kindergarten in the 2011-2012 school year begins, two more Halton schools are planning for the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten (FDELK) program. The two schools are Robert Little Public School in Acton and Gardiner Public School in Georgetown.
Beginning in September 2011 (Year 2) a total of thirteen (13) Halton public elementary schools will provide Full Day Every Day Kindergarten:

- Gardiner Public School, Georgetown
- P.L. Robertson Public School, Milton
- Escarpment View Public School, Milton
- King’s Road Public School, Burlington
- Mohawk Gardens Public School, Burlington
- Tom Thomson Public School, Burlingtonv
- Lakeshore Public School, Burlington
- W.H. Morden Public School, Oakville
- Abbey Lane Public School, Oakville
- Oakwood Public School, Oakville
- James W. Hill Public School, Oakville
- Palermo Public School, Oakville
The schools offering the Full Day Every Day program in 2012-2013 (Year 3) will be announced in the spring once we receive Ministry of Education approval.
The Ministry of Education has just released new guidelines regarding before and after school care for 4-5 year olds (also referred to as the Extended Day Program.) Information will be posted on the Board website under Extended Day Program as it becomes available. Kindergarten information and Registration forms may be accessed here.

For the 2011-12 school year, the Extended Day Program will be offered through third party partnerships with child care providers in our community. The program will be delivered at the school and will be located in a Kindergarten class or another age-appropriate space.
