For the 2011-12 school year, the Extended Day Program will be offered through third party partnerships with child care providers in our community. The program will be delivered at the school and will be located in a Kindergarten class or another age-appropriate space.

For more information about the Extended Day program in the 2011-12 school year, refer to:

- Parent letter (dated February 14, 2011)

Extended Day Program for 2010-11 School Year

As part of the Early Learning Program beginning in September 2010, the Halton District School Board is excited to offer Junior and Senior Kindergarten parents an Extended Care Program providing before and after school care within their child’s school. Based on parent need, this program will offer Junior and Senior Kindergarten students a seamless day beginning at 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. before and after the core day program. Extended care will be offered to parents for a fee based on their child’s enrollment in the program.

 For the 2010-2011 school year, the Extended Care Program will be offered at:

  • Mohawk Gardens Public School, Burlington
  • Escarpment View Public School, Milton
  • Palermo Public School, Oakville
  • PL Robertson Public School, Milton

These four locations were selected based on the parent need as determined by the number of parents who completed and return the required form and deposit (mailed to all ELP registered parents on April 7, 2010). The other seven ELP sites will not offer the extended day program because it is not financially viable.

Fee Schedule for September 2010 – June 2011:

Enrollment is on a weekly basis providing extended care as follows:

Before School Only (Monday to Friday)

$ 53.00 per week

After School Only (Monday to Friday)

$ 72.00 per week

Before and After School (Monday to Friday)

$ 125.00 per week

Please note
: The extended day program is unable to accommodate part time care at this time. Parents will not be financially responsible for PA Days, Christmas Break, March Break and summer months and will need to make alternate arrangements for child care on these days.  Please refer to the Licensed Child Care Options Flyer, available in the 'Downloads' section, for child care options on these days

Please refer to the Parent Handbook available in the 'Downloads' section.  The Parent Handbook contains policies and information regarding the Extended Day Program and it is an expectation that each parent/guardian has read the Parent Handbook and understands the information and will comply with the direction provided as it relates to the Extended Day Program.

To enrol your child in the Extended Day Program please complete the Registration Form as well as the Permission & Medical Release Form, also available in the 'Downloads' section.

If you wish to register your child in the Extended Day Program you must contact Susan Thrasher at 905-335-3663 ext. 3259, Email: thrashers@hdsb.ca or Leanne Pesowski at 905-335-3663 ext. 3260, Email: pesowskil@hdsb.ca to confirm available space in the program.  Upon availability, completed registration forms and the $75 deposit must be returned to the Board Office before your child begins his/her first day in the Extended Day Program.
