H.O.P.E.S. is an opportunity for suspended and/or expelled youth to pursue both academic and therapeutic learning. Students who have been suspended in the Halton District School Board for 6 days or more or have been expelled from all schools in the Board may choose to attend this goal-driven program.
Each classroom team consists of a Halton District School Board teacher and social worker who share the following Vision, Mission, and Values.

Upon entry to H.O.P.E.S., students, their families, and school teams meet with the H.O.P.E.S. social worker and teacher to discuss goals for the placement, which are then documented in the Student Action Plan. The Student Action Plan, which addresses both academic and therapeutic goals, is a “living” document that is reviewed and presented by the student to the home school at the end of the suspension or expulsion.
