In September 2003 elementary schools in the Halton District School Board began to follow a “Balanced Day" timetable. This timetable provides for three 100-minute periods of instruction, divided by two nutrition breaks.

(Burlington Central Elementary and Aldershot Elementary School do not follow the Balanced Day timetable as they are Grade 7 to graduation schools.)
