PUBLIC CONSULTATION
Community members were invited to attend a Consultation Meeting to review and provide feedback on various boundary change scenarios for the public secondary schools in Milton. This consultation took place in November at Milton District High School. Halton District School Board staff presented information concerning each of the scenarios and parents/gaurdians participated in discussions about each option. Staff were on hand to answer questions.
BOARD REPORT
Subsequent to the Public Consultation, Board Staff developed Report 10187 recommending Scenario 1 be adopted. This report was presented at the December 15th meeting of the Board. The Report and associated recommendations (below) were approved by Trustees.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Be it resolved that the Halton District School Board adjust the boundaries for the secondary schools in Milton as outlined in Scenario 1 in Report 10187, effective September 2011.
Be it resolved that students currently attending Milton District High School be allowed to continue to attend Milton District High School until such time as they graduate. Transportation for these secondary students will continue, as prescribed by the Board’s transportation policy, up to and including the 2014/2015 school year.
