Earth Rangers
To increase student awareness of habitat challenges facing the Canadian wildlife, Sheridan invited Earth Rangers to present "Bring Back the Wild", with live animal ambassadors, on January 26, 2012. This visit was courtesy of a Metro Green Apple Schools Grant.
North Oakville Today reporter Ian Holroyd attended the first of two presentations and shared some of his photos. Please view the pictures from the presentations in the slide show below. His article was also published on the front page of the newspaper on Friday, February 3, 2012.
Sheridan students participated in a week-long fundraiser: Earth Ranger buttons were sold, with all proceeds going to protect the Newfoundland Pine Marten (students voted between the Monarch Butterfly, Plains Bison, Spotted Turtle, or the Pine Marten). $435 was raised. Fabulous job, Sheridan!!
***Updated figures (now including Candygram sales by Student Council): $550 raised!!
