Before and After School Care

The Halton District School Board (HDSB) offers directly operated Before and After School Programs (BASP) for children aged 3 years, 8 months to 12 years during the school year at the following locations:

  • Lakeshore Public School, Burlington
  • Central Public School, Burlington
  • John T. Tuck Public School, Burlington
  • Tecumseh Public School, Burlington
  • Kilbride Public School, Burlington
  • Cedar Ridge Public School, Milton
  • Harvest Oak Public School, Oakville

Before and After Programs operate on all instructional days, Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Programs do not operate on PD days and school breaks (winter, March or summer).

Please refer to the Child Care Rates webpage for information regarding all third party operated before and after school programs located within HDSB schools. All programs are regulated by the Ministry of Education's Quality Assurance and Licensing Branch under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.

Pre-Registration For HDSB Before and After School Care Opens Monday January 12, 2026 @ 9:00 am

All families requesting before and after school care for the 2026-2027 school year must pre-register their child using the Onelist system. Insert Link https://onehsn.com/hdsb

Families currently on the 2025-2026 waitlist MUST pre-register separately for September 2026.

All families currently attending the 2025-2026 before and after school programs MUST pre-register for September 2026.

Priority placement will be given to families requiring full time before and after school care, Monday to Friday. Confirmation emails will be sent confirming full time spaces in May 2026.

Part time requests (before and/or after, T/Th, M/W/F) will be considered after July 1. 2026.

Important: Families currently enrolled in the 2025–2026 program must re-register. Current registrations and waitlist applications do not carry over to the next school year.

Full-time care is defined as families requiring before and after school care, Monday to Friday.

Part-time schedules are set days. We will provide before and/or after school care on the following days:

  • ​Tuesday and Thursday schedule; OR
  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule

  • Before and after care
  • Before school only
  • After school only

Due to the high demand for before and after school care and to maximize the number of registered families in the programs, we do not accommodate customized schedules.

Due to the high demand for before and after school care, if a request is made to change a full-time schedule to a part-time schedule and there is a full-time care waitlist for the program, your child will be removed from the attendance and placed on the waitlist. Once a part-time space becomes available, you will be contacted with a start date and invited to re-register.

Before and after care schedule change requests will be considered but are not guaranteed. ​​​

Confirmation emails will be sent to families with confirmed spaces in the program (based on the pre-registration information) after May 1, 2026. Confirmation emails will include a live link to complete the registration process. The registration process must be completed within 72 hours of receiving the registration link to secure the before and after school space.
