Principal’s Message

My name is Mareika Smith, and I am the proud Principal of John T Tuck Public School.

I moved to Burlington from Toronto in 2001 to begin my career as an educator in the Halton District School Board.  I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher before entering the role of school administrator, and in 2020, became a School Principal. 

My two children also attend school in our school board, and my husband is a teacher at Tecumseh Public School, right down the street from John T Tuck.  Other than my passion for my career in education, I am an avid gardener, a rep-sport chauffeur, an amateur photographer, and, most recently, have delved into the world of camping at provincial parks with my family.
