1. Call to Order 

The meeting was called to order at 8:45am by Lauren Purkis (co-chair). 

2. Attendance 

Present: Lauren Purkis, Vanessa Dorrington, Stephanie Storie, Lisa Markham, Michelle Perry, Jason Merrithew, Chad Walsh, James Hull, Elena Day, Markus.  

3. Approval of Agenda 

Motion: That the agenda be approved as presented/amended. Mover: Lauren Purkis

4. Approval of Previous Minutes 

Motion: That the minutes of the October 2025 meeting be approved. Mover: Lauren Purkis

5. Principals Report  

1. Updates on Start of Year: 

a. Clubs and Teams being offered are on a calendar by the main office.

b. Halton Skills 

• Signed up for 5, a team of up to 20 will be attending 

• 4 per team 

• Robotics (two Lego, Vex), Character Animation, Application Cart  Building 

c. Donations 

• Supporting Kerr Street with a PJ Drive 

• Starting in January classes have signed up to host a shelf with their  learning buddies 

• Students in grade 3 - working on a gently used mitten and hat drive

d. Junior Council 

• advisory council made up of Grade 5-6 students who represent  their Kindergarten to Grade 5 or Grade 6 classmates for the year

• overarching purpose is to represent and govern this group of  

students in the Halton District School Board 

• identifying challenges affecting students in schools and working  towards student-led solutions for these problems 

• Everyone who applied will be part of the school committee, starting  with Spirit Days 

• Six “applications” - read and narrowed down to one 

e. Bully Prevention Plan 

lesson happening in every class, updating the plan and will post it  on our website 

f. Junior Volleyball 

Motion: Approval of STEM equipment in the amount of $3099.13

6. Fundraising Initiatives to Date - Discussion 

• Bus Stop Boogie – build up fundraising around this for next year – improve  branding 

• Food Program Update – Pizza drove additional revenue  

• Budding Artists – final reminder as it makes great gift  

• Camp Fair  

• Spirit Wear 

• Teacher Appreciation Lunch 

• Math Contest  

7. Treasurer’s Report

5. Principals Report  

1. SPORTS: Volleyball - each gender is in three tournaments, coached by Ms Blakey and Ms. Monty, Coming up is basketball in March, tournaments in April

2. STAFFING - Ms. Blakey’s last day is Feb 13, will start hiring once I get approval from HR

-starting to get projections for September, encourage neighbours to register

3. PD DAY  Thinking Classroom, partnering with EJ James

4. PRO Grant - $500

- use it to foster community partnerships, increasing parent connection to the school community. 

5. ASSEMBLIES/PRESENTATIONS:

QMAK - was here inspiring students to be a star students, Dec. 1

Encourage students to be a star students, well received

TOUR for HUMANITY - mobile human rights education centre

introduces elementary school students to the Holocaust, in part through Simon Wiesenthal’s personal story. With age-appropriate content that includes defining and discussing stereotypes, racism and prejudice, it enhances the ability of participants to become proactive members of society by creating positive change.

WINTER SING ALONG - led by 6 grade 6’s on the last day before winter break, lots of singing, enjoyment from all

6. ECO SCHOOL - FUNdrive, one in initiative happening to support  ECO initiatives at the school
