Proud of Our Success

The Halton District School Board is justifiably proud of the success of its students. These successes are supported by caring staff who work together in the best interest of all students. This online annual report provides some of the highlights of the 2014-2015 school year based on the values outlined in our Multi-Year Plan  - which align with Relationships, Responsibility, Ingenuity.

This report features data, stories, video and links showcasing the goals set out by the Board for Students, Staff and for the board-wide system. It illustrates how staff, students, parents and volunteers are committed to supporting all students.

Stuart Miller,

Director of Education

stuart millerChange and Challenge

The 2014-15 year has offered change and challenge. The municipal election held in Fall 2014 ushered in new faces around the Board table, with six of the 11 trustees new to the role. The ensuing year of Board and Committee meetings have seen the Board of Trustees grow as a team, work toward the continued enhancement of student achievement needs, and strengthen working relationships with our Director, Associate Director and Senior Administrative team.

Only a few months into the new Board´s term of office, the Halton District School Board was notified of the retirement of Director of Education David Euale after five years of exemplary service. The end of the 2014-15 school year saw the Board involved in a Director´s search process which resulted in the appointment of Stuart Miller as the new Director of Education. Other appointments to the senior administrative team in 2014-15 included the hiring of new superintendents of education to fill additional moves and/or retirements to the team, and the appointment of David Boag as Associate Director, filling the position vacated by Stuart Miller as he moved into the Directorship.

With a dynamic Senior Administrative team and a committed staff working at all levels to support our continued focus on student achievement, upon further reflection this was a year of growth and opportunity. On behalf of the Halton District School Board of Trustees we are honored to support this Director´s Annual Report for 2014-15.

Chair, Halton District School Board
