Elementary and Secondary Principal, 2017 - 2018
Thank you for your interest in a leadership role with the Halton District School Board (HDSB). The HDSB is a growing board with 64,000 students in more than 100 schools in the communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville.
Role Summary
The Halton District School Board is seeking dynamic, innovative, and collaborative leaders to build thriving school communities and empowered staff teams. At the HDSB our school administrators provide instructional leadership and create inclusive and welcoming environments where students and staff are proud to learn, work, and achieve.
HDSB principals partner with trustees, superintendents, teachers, parents and support staff to ensure the success of all students in our diverse and dynamic school system.
Skills and Qualifications
We select proven leaders who offer enthusiasm, creativity, and a growth mindset as well as competencies identified by the Ministry of Education’s Ontario Leadership Framework (OLF) and the HDSB Multi-Year Plan.
Minimum Requirements Include:
Criteria for application for the position of Principal in the HDSB:
- Prior experience as a Vice-principal; Ontario experience is an asset
- Completion of Part I and Part II of the Principal’s Qualification Program
- Current performance appraisal (PPA within last 5 years)
- Demonstrated experience with Special Education policies and procedures or completion of Special Education Part I
- Demonstrated ability to build capacity in others
