Schools across the Halton District School Board celebrated
Day of Pink with assemblies and activities designed to promote bullying prevention strategies and encourage one another in many positive ways.
Lester B. Pearson High School has teamed up with Sir Ernest MacMillan Public School to host school bullying prevention assemblies during the day. There is also
a parent presentation tonight at Pearson, starting at 7 p.m., that will explain the how-tos of identification and protection of young people from the effects of bullying. Also, Halton Police and school administrators will share their role in preventing bullying and addressing bullying situations.
During the presentations, members of the Toronto Argos and club cheerleaders will provide testimonials of how bullying affected them while delivering a message to students that they can counter such behaviour by creating an environment of inclusivity and acceptance.
