Halton District School Board's secondary visual art teachers are ready to apply the very skills they teach their students with the launch of the annual Halton Faculty Art Show (formerly Front of the Class).
Approximately two-dozen teachers will showcase their artwork during a nine-week art show at the Oakville Town Hall (1225 Trafalgar Rd.) from June 11 until August 29, 2018. It's free for visitors to attend during Town Hall opening hours. More than 60 pieces will be in the show, displaying a wide variety of mediums, subject matter and styles.
Hosted by ArtWorks Oakville, a private opening reception will take place on Wednesday, June 20 from 6-9 p.m. where people can meet with the teacher artists who are usually busy teaching students the skills of making art. Some of the artwork will be available for purchase. ArtWorks is an incorporated, non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and showcasing visual artists at several public spaces in Oakville.
