International students applying must have a minimum academic average of 70% in core academic subjects such as English and math. We required notarized transcripts and the most recent report card with teacher comments. Also, we require a notarized dated letter from the school confirming current enrolment.
Secondary students who have graduated from high school (or equivalent) in their homeland are not eligible to apply to HDSB.
Only students who are 18 years old and under before December 31 of the school year in which they are applying are eligible to attend HDSB.
Any student who will reach 18 years of age while participating in the program must sign the
Consent for Information Sharing Students at the Age of Majority form to enable HDSB and/or its International Education Services staff to share personal information with their parents.
A student applying for admission to Grade 12 must acquire a minimum level Academic IELTS 5.5 OR TOEFL 550 English proficiency and provide a photocopy of the official test results report with their application and produce the original results upon arrival.
Students will need an active email account to complete Pre-Arrival Learning.
HDSB reserves the right to contact previous schools for an academic and behaviour reference which can be used to make an offer of acceptance.
Returning students must demonstrate successful achievement and consistent attendance to receive a letter of agreement to obtain a new student visa.
