Garth Webb Secondary School is a dynamic, growing learning community in Oakville's Westoak Trails neighbourhood, home to more than 1,600 students who make up the Chargers.
Opened in 2012, Garth Webb has quickly built a reputation for hands-on innovation, from an internationally competitive robotics program to a school-wide focus on environmental leadership and sustainability.
With a score of 8.5 out of 10 in the Fraser Institute Report Card on Ontario's Secondary Schools 2025, Garth Webb is ranked 42nd out of 747 secondary schools in the province.

AP courses offer university-level content to students in secondary school, allowing them to study subjects in greater depth while building strong skills in research, critical thinking and time management. Based on their AP exam results, students can earn transfer credit, advanced standing or both at institutions around the world.

Garth Webb's SHSM program lets students bundle courses in Energy around a career interest while earning sector certifications and gaining hands-on experience, all while meeting the requirements for their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

At Garth Webb, learning beyond the classroom is central to the student experience. Cocurriculars help students discover new interests, build friendships and develop the leadership skills that shape their futures.
Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Cooperative Education provides secondary students with valuable experiential learning to apply, refine and extend their learning from the classroom into the community. Co-op allows students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work experience placement with employers across Halton in fields that interest them.
Athletics
Garth Webb is home to the Chargers. Students compete and train across a wide range of interscholastic and intramural sports, building school spirit and teamwork on and off the field.
Robotics & STEM
Chargers Robotics, Garth Webb's FIRST Robotics Competition team, has repeatedly qualified for the FIRST Ontario Provincial Championship, competing among the province's top student-built robotics programs. The school also runs a peer-built Math Contest Repository and a gifted cluster program supporting advanced learners.
The move from Grade 8 to Grade 9 is a major milestone that is exciting, empowering and full of possibility. Garth Webb welcomes incoming Grade 9 students with dedicated Grade 8 information resources, transition events and caring staff.
Garth Webb's guidance team supports every student with course selection, pathway planning and post-secondary preparation, while social workers and student success staff ensure students are cared for in and out of the classroom. Graduating Chargers are also eligible for scholarships through the Juno Beach Centre, honouring the school's Grade 10 Lest We Forget history project and its connection to Canada's Second World War legacy.
There are five Pathways that students may choose to pursue after secondary school and they are all valued equally. They are Apprenticeship, College, Community, University and Work.
Through Pathways, students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities provided in secondary school to know themselves, identify strengths, set educational and career goals and create a plan to achieve them. Working independently, with their guidance counsellor or with support staff, Garth Webb students are encouraged to leverage all areas of programming, both academic and cocurricular, to plan a future that fits their individual goals and aspirations.
