April 19, 2021 - During the remote learning period, some staff are working in schools to support select students with special education needs who require in-person learning, as they are unable to learn remotely. To ensure individuals are not identified,  we will not report COVID cases where there are less than 10 staff or students in the school.

The HDSB provides the number of positive COVID-19 cases that are connected to schools. For all confirmed cases, families and staff at the school will be notified by email. The website is updated simultaneously as families are informed. Halton Region Public Health conducts all contact tracing with potential contacts directly.

Important:  A positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school.  They may have been exposed somewhere else in the community.  The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared.

To learn more about our procedures in the event of a positive COVID-19 case refer to the Health & Facility section of the Reopening Schools Plan.

COVID-19 Resources
  • Halton Region COVID-19 (2019 Novel Coronavirus)
  • Government of Ontario: COVID-19
  • Government of Canada: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

Confirmed cases will be removed after they have been resolved.
