Principal's Message

Welcome back, Abbey Lane community!

We hope you and your families enjoyed a fun summer and are getting excited for school! We are looking forward to seeing students and families on Tuesday September 8, 2026!  

It is truly wonderful to begin the 2026–2027 school year together. As a new member of this incredible community, I am already inspired by the kindness, community and connection shown by our students, families, and staff. The remarkable things we accomplish at Abbey Lane are only possible because we work collaboratively, building a strong community where everyone contributes to our children’s success.

At Abbey Lane, we want every student, staff member, and families to feel a deep sense of belonging as their true, authentic self. We celebrate our differences and are committed to creating an environment where every student, regardless of background or identity, can achieve academic success. Our school serves as a bridge that connects us, allowing us to work together to make a meaningful difference in our children’s lives.

This year, we will place a special emphasis on the importance of kindness, community and connection, a value at the heart of the HDSB’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan. Kindness is more than being polite; it is rooted in respect, empathy, and the intentional choice to lift others up. When we practice kindness in our classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and throughout our community, we create a positive, safe, and welcoming space where everyone can thrive.

In the coming days you will receive a link to our Student Handbook, which will provide you with in-depth information about Abbey Lane P.S.  Additionally, a weekly Community LYNX Newsletter will be emailed to families on Fridays detailing everything happening at Abbey Lane.  Please be sure to check the school calendar on our School Website on a regular basis as it is updated continuously with all of the activities and events happening at school.
