Registering for Kindergarten

• Junior Kindergarten (Year 1): Your child must be 4 years old by December 31, 2025
• Senior Kindergarten (Year 2): Your child must be 5 years old by December 31, 2025

Note: If your child is already attending Year 1 Kindergarten in an HDSB school, you do not need to register again for Year 2.

How to Register

Start the Registration Process

Visit the Register My Child for School page to begin.

Complete the Kindergarten Parent Questionnaire.

You can fill this out online or at your school starting in January.

Report Immunizations
Submit your child’s immunization records to Halton Public Health or call 311.

Check for Confirmation.
You’ll receive a confirmation email once your child’s registration is complete.

Ask Questions:
Contact your child’s school directly if you need help or have questions.

​New or Returning to Canada?​

• The parent has a Work Permit AND is registering their first child in the family with HDSB
• The parent/child has a Study Permit/Visa
• The parent is a Permanent Resident applicant on visitor status
