Graduation Requirements

New

Students earning credits through institutions outside the Halton District School Board must complete the External Credit Declaration Form and submit it to their school’s Guidance Office when registering with the external provider.

Diploma Requirements

For Students Entering Grade 9 in September 2023 or Earlier

To earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), students must complete:

18 compulsory credits
12 optional credits
40 hours of community involvement
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) in Grade 10 or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course
2 eLearning credits (opt-out form available)

This program is designed to be completed in four years following Grade 8.

For Students Entering Grade 9 in September 2024 or Later

To earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), students must complete:

17 compulsory credits
13 optional credits
40 hours of community involvement
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) in Grade 10 or the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course
2 eLearning credits (opt-out form available)

This program is also designed to be completed in four years following Grade 8.
