Girls Field Hockey Team
Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Field Hockey team on defeating Nelson yesterday to capture the Halton Championship. The team advances to the GHAC final against STA this Tuesday at 3:00 pm. Best of luck in the finals!
Film Club Movie Night - Halloween is just around the corner and to celebrate, Film Club is screening Corpse Bride at 6PM on Thursday, October 29th! Wear your PJs or a costume and bring pillows or blankets for an extra comfy time. Admission is free, but bring a credit or debit card for our fresh popcorn and concession, only a couple dollars for each!
Rock for a Cause: Manifesto Benefit Show – Friday, October 30!
Looking for a fun way to kick off your weekend? Manifesto is hosting Rock for a Cause, a fundraising concert on Friday, October 30, at 4:00 pm in the theatre.
The concert will feature live performances from four talented student bands: Manifesto, Jane Doe, JDZ, and Sixth Sense. Enjoy an afternoon of great music, support your fellow student musicians, and make a difference in our community!
Admission is completely FREE, but donations are greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF), an organization dedicated to removing financial barriers to education for students across the Halton District School Board. Donations will help support students in need by providing access to essentials such as food, clothing, and school supplies.

The Mic Drop
We are excited to introduce a new bi-monthly student breakfast series hosted by Mr. Gallant, designed to cultivate a strong culture of belonging and foster meaningful connections across Abbey Park. During the first half-hour of period one, twice each month on a Friday, small groups of students will gather over snacks to engage in open, honest discussions about school life, relationships, and inclusivity. To ensure comfortable and focused conversations, student sessions will be divided into junior/senior and male/female identifying groupings.
Getting involved is simple! Interested students can express their interest directly by filling out this brief Google Form - The Mic Drop with Mr. Gallant. The form asks for basic details and provides an opportunity to suggest specific topics or questions for the principal - from reflecting on daily student interactions and mutual respect to sharing ideas on how to make our school community more inclusive. We encourage all students to sign up, share their experiences, and help shape a positive environment for everyone.

Homestay Hosts Needed in Halton - Each year, the HDSB’s International Student Program (ISP) welcomes students into schools, and as a result, our programs benefit, our community benefits and local students create lifelong friendships and global connections.
Our Homestay Partners are looking for hosts for 2027 for various lengths of time: 3 months, 5 months (one semester) and 10 months (full year). They offer full training, 24/7 support and a monthly stipend.
Hosting an international student is a unique and rewarding experience. You'll give a young learner a life-changing opportunity while creating lasting memories for your own family. As a host, you provide a private bedroom, three daily meals, access to WiFi and laundry and a welcoming, supportive and safe home.
