Honours
Honour Roll Criteria
Honour Roll recognition is based on credits earned through Regular Day School courses completed between September 1 and June 30 of the current school year.
Credits earned from Night School, Summer School, Private Schools, or other non-HDSB institutions are excluded from this calculation.
To qualify, students must achieve an overall average of 80% or higher, calculated using their best courses completed during the regular school year, according to the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 9 & Grade 10 Students* – Best 8 courses
- Grade 11 Students – Best 7 courses
- Grade 12 Students – Best 6 courses
* Year 1 refers to a student in their first year of high school.
** For January graduates leaving after Semester 1, Honour Roll status is based on their best 3 courses.
Ontario Scholar Criteria
Grade 12 Students
Ontario Scholar designation is awarded to students who achieve an average of 80% or higher in their top 6 Grade 12 coded courses. These courses may be taken in any year of high school.
