Oral Health Day at our school is Tuesday, June 23, 2026
A Registered Dental Hygienist from Halton Region Public Health will be conducting dental screening for
JK and SK students to assess their oral health. Screening results and information about dental financial
assistance programs will be sent home in your child's backpack. Dental screening does not replace a check-up with a dental provider.
If you DO NOT want your child in JK or SK to have a dental screening OR you would like your child in
grades 1-8 to have a dental screening, visit Halton.ca and complete and submit the Halton - Oral Health
in School Screening Form or call 311 and provide your child’s name, date of birth, school, and grade.
Exemptions from the dental screening must be received at least 10 business days before the dental
screening date.

The grade 8 graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday June 24, 2025 from 6-7pm at Abbey Park S.S.. Students will return to the school afterwards for the party and dance in the gym from 8-10pm.
Police Record Checks & Annual Offence Declaration
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. All volunteers must meet provincial requirements and under regulation O.Reg. 298/25, effective April 1, 2026 school boards are now required to collect a new Police Record Checks (PRC) with vulnerable sector check for volunteers, in the jurisdiction that they reside, every five (5) years before volunteering in schools. All PRC requests must have a cover letter (provided by the school) attached to the application.
Please make note that an additional change is that in order to keep your new PRC valid for it’s five (5) year life span you must fill out an Annual Offence Declaration and submit it to the school office before September 1st each year commencing years 2,3,4 and 5 after the PRC issue date.
*Police record Checks must be submitted to the school within 3 months of completion
If you have any questions please email mccutcheonj@hdsb.ca
