Textile Drive

Just wanted to send out a heads up that the football team is running a Textile Drive this Saturday, Jan. 10th, from 9 am to 1 pm.  Please bring any and all clothing donations to the school.  You don't even need to get out of your car, we'll unload it for you.

If you're not able to attend but have donations, please bring them to the school.  We will arrange to pick them up from you OR you can drop things off to room 217. Please share this with family and friends. Textiles will be donated to Kidney Clothes.  Rams football gets a kickback donation based off of the total weight of items collected.  This was a huge positive for the team last year.

Thank you. Go Rams.

QUÉBEC TRIP

There will be a check-in meeting Monday at the start of lunch in room 325 for all students on the Québec trip. If you cannot attend, please contact Mme Velpel velpelm@hdsb.ca or Mme Beaudoin beaudoinm@hdsb.ca ASAP.

Good Morning MMR!

Today we recognize International Human Rights Day, an annual worldwide celebration marking the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10th 1948. This document affirms the fundamental rights and freedom inherent to every person, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you believe.

To highlight this important day, the Advocates of Equity have created posters for each of the Declarations displayed around the school. At lunch or during a period off, we encourage you to take part in our Human Rights Scavenger Hunt! Look for the posters, scan the QR codes, and answer the questions for a chance to win prizes! This activity is a fun way to learn about the rights that help protect us, from the right to life, liberty, education, and security.

As we take time today to explore these rights, remember that building a just and equitable community starts with everyday actions such as speaking up, supporting each other, and choosing empathy even when it's difficult.

Let's keep working together to make our school a place where everyone feels valued and heard.

We hope you have a great day MMR!

GSA - The Gender-Sexuality Alliance

January 30, 2026

Dear MMR families,

Please see important messages below as we begin semester two.

Vaping and School Code of Conduct

As we look to begin semester two next week, we would like to remind our students that there is no vaping/smoking on school property, and harmful discriminatory language/behaviour will not be tolerated. We encourage all students and parents/guardians to carefully review together the Code of Conduct, the HDSB Harmful Discriminatory Language/Behaviour Protocol and the HDSB Bullying Response Protocol. Classroom teachers will be reviewing and discussing these protocols with their classes through a Human Rights approach to help build responsibility and action in ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment free from all forms of racism and discrimination.

Student Google Accounts ACTION NEEDED For Students Not Returning in Sem Two

Students who are not returning for semester two will lose access to the HDSB Network & Google Workspace for Education applications, data, and email. This includes both Gmail and Drive. If you have used your HDSB email when applying for post secondary school, resume development, job applications, etc. you will need to update your information and change it to a personal email address before access to your HDSB account is lost.  To retain your Google Workspace data please see one of the options below. This will enable you to easily retain your email, essays, resumes, science projects, and any other files stored on Google Drive before access has been removed to your HDSB account. It is recommended you do this asap.

  • Transfer email and Drive files to a personal Google Account using Transfer Your Content - see Transfer their content. Personal Gmail accounts only have 15 GB free drive space. All files in your My Drive will count toward your quota.

  • Archive data using Google Takeout. The traditional Takeout is also available to create an archive of all their data in Google Workspace.

First Day of Classes Semester Two - Monday February 2, 2026

In-Person Classes resume.

Course Selection for September 2026 - Due Monday February 2, 2026

A reminder to students and families to have their Course Selection Courses entered into myblueprint.ca/halton by February 2, 2026.  Guidance, Student Services, and Learning Resources staff will be visiting classes to confirm course selections and submit the courses for the final deadline of February 12, 2026.  Students can discuss options with their Guidance Counsellor and teachers prior to the February 2nd deadline.   Please refer to the 2026-27 Course Selections page on the MMR website for further information and resources.

Final Report Card Distribution for Semester One - Monday February 9, 2026

Parents will receive an electronic copy of their student’s report card via email.  You will receive an email containing a secure link which will allow you to view and download the report card. To access the report card, you will need your student’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) as the password to access the report card. This nine-digit number can be found on a previous report card or a student verification form. Please enter the numbers only (no spaces or dashes). The link to access the report card is valid for 30 days.  We ask parents/guardians to review the report card with their student to congratulate, and encourage continued student growth and learning into semester two.  If you previously unsubscribed from SchoolMessenger and wish to re-subscribe to retrieve the report card, please visit go.schoolmessenger.ca and use the Sign Up link to create an account and manage your subscription preferences.

Grade 12 Prom

Again this year students at MMR have initiated and organized their own Grade 12 prom. We have learned that plans are well underway. We want to emphasize for all MMR parents/students that this prom is NOT school organized/sanctioned, and as such, there will NOT be any staff involved in the planning or onsite during the prom.

Driving onto Board/School Property & Parking/Idling in Bus Loading Zones & Fire Routes

Please do not park or idle your vehicle in any of the bus loading zones and fire routes including those around the Angela Coughlan Pool, as well as those at the front of the school where the “no parking” markings are located. Like all schools, our parking lot is very busy at morning drop off and afternoon pick up times. We expect all drivers to navigate our parking lots slowly and responsibly to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.
