Peer Tutoring Semester Two

MMR’s Peer Tutoring Program will be starting up prior to March Break.  With this school-wide program, students can be involved in one of two ways:

Please direct any questions to Ms. Nicole Hagley or Ms. Leaha Capriotti.

Scholarships and Awards

Students seeking scholarships can use ScholarshipsCanada.com and Scholartree.ca to search for scholarships. These are Canadian scholarship platforms that let students create a profile (based on interests and eligibility) and will match them with scholarships they might qualify for.  The Halton Learning Foundation portal for local scholarships just opened and is available until April 24th. https://haltonlearningfoundation.ca/scholarshipsandawards/ Information about end of year school awards will be coming in March. Students should watch the announcements and Guidance Google Classroom for further details. If you have any questions, please contact Guidance Counsellor Joy Baxter (baxterj@hdsb.ca).

Snowbank Safety at Bus Stops & School Loading Zones

Students are asked to stay off snowbanks at bus stops and school loading zones. Snowbanks create blind spots for drivers and increase the risk of students slipping, tripping or sliding into traffic.

Check for Bus Delays & Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather, please check the Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) website for updates on school bus delays and cancellations.

Stay Informed with the BusPlanner Delays App

If you have not yet downloaded the BusPlanner Delays App, we encourage you to do so to receive real-time delay and cancellation notifications for your child’s bus routes and runs, as well as general notices for inclement weather.

Safety Tips When Walking To School

The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Safety tips for students who walk to and from school can also be found on the Walk and Wheel to School webpage.
